THE JERUSALEM AND PALESTINE TRIP
I’m going back to jerusalem and the West bank late this year.
Would you like to come with me?
This time I’m taking a group of 8 photographers, students and arts educators.
The highlight: the photography is exciting enough, whether the Old City, Masada, or deep into the West Bank, but the highlight of the trip will be some photography workshops we run in the Refugee camps at (probably) Nablus. The arts programs in the camps are impressive.
Your package includes:
Photography: excellent photographic tuition and collaboration as you need it, and images beyond expectation.
Day trips: taking in Jerusalem and parts of Israel, and also deep into the West Bank. Locations include for example, the separation wall, the Holy Sepulcher, Qumran and a visit to the Bedouin in the Negev.
Side trips: the schedule includes flexible time, so the option of a side trip, for example to petra in jordan, is easy.
Accomodation: We stay inside the Old City of Jerusalem, in an old Arab hotel. The single or double rooms have en-suite. There’s an in-house restaurant and a roof top lounge.
Comfort, food etc: the Palestinians and the Israelis are warm, friendly people who are open-armed to visitors, especially in the lost corners of the Old city and the remote parts of Palestine.
The issues? The arts in the Palestinian camps are vibrant. The only issue that matters is creativity: in photography and in education.
Who? 8 people, each with an interest in photography, great travel and arts education.
The deal: The trip cost (includes accomodation, tours and insurance) plus your own ticket to and from tel Aviv.
When: Late Dec 2010 to early jan, 2011. That’s Christmas and the New Year in Jerusalem.
