Kommune | What is Kommune?

Kommune is a new school of photography in Alphington, Melbourne (near Fairfield.)

Kommune will train you in the exciting world of Arts Photography through challenging, practical workshops in small collaborative groups. We offer:

A chance to build or extend your folio, and to focus on music/dance/theatre/art photography and fine portraits.
A series of shoots, both studio and location based, in classes of 3, running at various times, mainly Tuesday nights.
Classes on various aspects of the camera, lighting, photography as a business, personal promotion, working with artists, image editing.
Access to the studio and lighting.
Access to models, and to assistance with printing.
Collaboration with other committed photographers and students.

If you want to learn arts photography through challenging, practical workshops in small groups, Kommune will suit you.
If you’re developing a folio or just seriously committed to the arts and the camera, Kommune provides feedback, opportunity and new approaches. Members commit to learning through collaboration, sharing their work, and conrtibuting to the workshops.
It’s all about your folio: Kommune does not involve any assessment, accreditation or certification. Your folio will confirm your capacity to freelance in arts photography.

You pay a membership fee (for the half-year) and model fees direct to model at shoots (generally $15 to $20 per shoot.)
The membership fee for the first semester of 2011 is $750. Membership is limited to 9 students.
